About us

Collage is a visual art form that creates new narratives from existing and hand made materials.

From Picasso to Rosenquist to the Buzzcocks, collage’s influence has been present in Twentieth Century art movements and subcultures for over a century. Yet despite its use in Cubism to Post Modernism, it remains a subversive and underground art form.

Melbourne Collage Assembly was founded in 2018 by collage artists Kieran Madden & Simone Esterhuizen in a serendipitous meeting while both scouring the same market stall for print materials. As they met other artists working with collage in their art practice, the group took shape to include its current ten members who all work with collage based techniques in some shape or form. While the group is still in its infancy, the members are established and emerging collage artists who have exhibited and published their work across the globe.

The members of Melbourne Collage Assembly exhibit their work in solo and group shows, and are available for commissions and editorial work.
