Rachel Derum

Rachel Derum is a collage artist, printmaker and sculptor exploring themes of identity, perception and consciousness through surreal compositions.

'My collages honour the connection between all things; the wilderness that surrounds us and the wild self within.

I love that collage as an art form echoes the ever-changing cycles of the natural world. Images can be endlessly reimagined and realised in new ways. Everything metamorphosing, adapting, in flux.’

Rachel has held solo exhibitions in Melbourne and Sydney, and has been included in group exhibitions throughout Australia and in New York, Barcelona, Moscow, Norway, Kranj, Madrid, Edinburgh and London.

Her work is held in the collections of The Scandinavian Collage Museum, Norway; Gippsland Art Gallery, Victoria; the Art Gallery of Ballarat, Victoria, and numerous private collections.

In collaboration with SBLA Landscape Architects, she recently completed the design and installation of Aia’s Meadow, a public memorial sculpture and garden, to be unveiled in Bundoora Park, Melbourne in June 2023.
